Things You Need to Know About the Outbreak

SYMPTOMS -

1. High temperature, tiredness and lowered immunity

2. Headache, runny nose and sneezing

3. Sore throat

4. Shortness of breath

5. Loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhoea

6. Aching muscles, limb and joint pain

WHAT TO DO 

  • Swine flu symptoms are similar to those produced by ordinary seasonal flu - fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, chills and fatigue
  • If you have flu symptoms and recently visited affected areas of Mexico, you should seek medical advice
  • If you suspect you are infected, you should stay at home and take advice by telephone initially, in order to minimize the risk of infection 


Prevention - WHAT TO DO

Among the best preventative measures you can take, according to the CDC:

  • Wash hands with soap or alcohol-based sanitizer;
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth;
  • avoid contact with sick people;
  • and wear a face mask.
