A GRAND DHEUSI CELEBRATED IN ATLANTA

Atlanta goes Dheusire.... As they have been doing for the past five years in Atlanta, Nepalese children adults alike celebrated Dheusire singing and dancing. The uniqueness of Dheusi in Atlanta is that they go from house to house just like they do in Nepal no matter how far these houses are. A total of nine houses and 23 families invited the Dheusire group at thier house across metro Atlanta and its suburb.
 

 

Nepalese in Atlanta celebrated Dheusi in high spirit, enthusiasm, and in the same manner as they do in Nepal going from nine different homes across metro Atlanta and its suburb.  Nepalese community in Atlanta has been celebrating Dheusire for the five years now with a support of Nepalese Association of South East America (NASeA).

 

The first house the Dheusire group went was that of Dr. Prahlad Pant early in the morning of the day of Gobhardan puja (also Mha Puja), a day prior to Bhai Tika, followed by the houses and apartment of Ram Dangol, Mohan Timilsina, Dr. Sundar Shrestha, Mr. Mohan Bista, Mr. Babu Ram Sharma, Mr. Kamal Khadka and Raja Ghale. The  Other families that participated together these host families and made contributions were Mr. CK Parajuli, Mr. Kiran Shrestha, Mr. Prem Kunwar, Dinesh Marhattha, Mr. Chandra Lal Shrestha and Mr. Bachhan KC.

 

The Dheusi program was coordinated by Sanjeeb Sapkota and Saunak Ranjitkar. The Dheusire group comprised of musicians, singer and dancers including Samir Upadyay, Gobhardan Shrestha, Dhananjaya Mudvari, Tek Thapa, Ram Dangol, Srijana Sharma, Sabina Sapkota, Sangita Dangol, Mohan Bista,Tilak Shrestha, Gobinda Shrestha, Mohan Bista, Raja Ghale, Bidhya Ghale, Prabhakar Dawadi, Rashmi Dawadi, Lekh Sharma,  Raju Kharel, Pashupati Neupane, Rabin Khatri, Sujan Basnet, Lekh Sharma, Raja Ghale and Bidhya Ghale. 

 

"A total of $1058 has been collected, the highest so far in the five year history of Dheusire in Atlanta" said Sanjeeb Sapkota.  "As in the past the collected fund will go towards the Altanta Nepali School, a venture of NASeA as well as for other charitable activities," Sapkota added.

 

"We will also publish how to organize home-to-home Dheusi based on our experience so that it will help as a instituitional memory for the future." Said Saunak Ranjitkar. "It is important that we document what we have learned and experience as that will be valuable asset for the future" Ranjitkar added.
