June 3, 2011: Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) yesterday has decided to hold its meeting thrice a week: every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday to expedite the army integration following the five-point deal leaders of UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML signed off on May 28, 2011.
Similarly, the Constitutional Committee (CC) yesterday has decided to forward the 78 contentious issues concerning ‘state restructuring and delegation of power to states’ to its ‘sub-committee on dispute resolution’ to build a consensus on these issues to expedite the preparation of a first draft of a new constitution following the five-point deal.
Spokesman for UCPN-Maoist Dinanath Sharma has said that the meeting of the Standing Committee of his party held at its headquarters in Koteshwor today has endorsed the five-point deal leaders of UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML reached on May 28, 2011, and has started off discussion on its effective implementation today, Nepalnews.com writes.
Similarly, the meeting of the central committee of CPN-UML held yesterday has endorsed the five-point deal, and has made its stand on the resignation of the prime minister clear. ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today quotes its Publicity Department Head Pradeep Gyawali, "PM Khanal will pave the way by tendering his resignation from his post once the minimum basis for the formation of national consensus government is created. This has been clearly mentioned in the deal and the parliament has already endorsed it and should not be a matter of dispute."
The meeting of Central Working Committee of NC held yesterday also has endorsed the five-point deal and has claimed that the deal has incorporated its 10-point demand; so, it would start a dialogue with other political parties to effectively enforce the deal.
