A Golden Dish Found In Trove At Hanumandhoka In Kathmandu

June 1, 2013: the opening of the trove of ancient treasure at Hanumandhoka in Kathmandu revealed a golden dish of the weight of 599 tolas (one tola = 11.664 gm) among other valuable and precious antiques, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
Previously, the Central Guthi Recoding Keeping office found a large quantity of silver and other valuable items. The office had formed a team of representatives of various organizations of the State, civil society members and so on to open the trove of treasure in Hanumandhoka Palace.
They found 15 wooden boxes. Out of the 15 boxes, they found five boxes empty. They have some more boxes to open.
According to the local newspapers, when Gyanendra was a king he had opened the trove of treasure but nobody knew why he opened it and what he had taken from there.
