Thirty-first Assembly Of NAST

November 8, 2011: speaking at the 31st Assembly of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in Lalitpur yesterday, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai also the ex-officio Chancellor of NAST has urged the scientists and technologists to engage in the scientific work with high morale; he has regretted that he could not increase the budget for the scientific research even though he wanted; he also has complained that nobody wants to take the portfolio of the Ministry of Science and Technology, so, the morale of scientists engaged in research has not been so high; he is considering to take the portfolio of this ministry; he has said that prime ministers used to hold the portfolio of the Ministry of Science and Technology in other countries, too, ‘gorkhapatra’ of today writes.
The scientific community of Nepal believes that Nepal needs to do technological researches results of which Nepalis could immediately use rather than conducting pure scientific researches.
