Nepal in Regression or Not

Immediately after taking the oath of office of the Prime Minister, Madhav Nepal has closed an informative program called ‘Samaya Prabaha’ of the Radio Nepal. So, Madhav Nepal has been very smart to deny to Nepalis receiving the news and views of political leaders and of other experts in various subject matters through the state media.
Ministry of Home has published a notice in the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of September 3, 2009 ordering the ministers and high civil, police and army officials to be present at the ceremony of the Indra Jatra festival in Kathmandu in the official uniform prescribed by the despotic Shah rulers in the past.
If the current government is of the New Nepal then the Home Ministry should have asked all ministers and officials attend the ceremony in their traditional dresses to show how inclusive the Nepalese administration, police and army have been but Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has been stepping backward.
