CIAA Ordered Not To Collect Hanumandhoka- Dharahara Joint Fees From Tourists

August 30, 2013: yesterday, Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has ordered the Kathmandu metropolitan administration to stop collecting the fees for visiting Dharahara from the tourists visiting Hanumandhoka, as the metropolitan administration had awarded the contract to the ‘Side Walks’ Private Limited Company without bidding, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

 

The Kathmandu metropolitan administration has made it obligatory for the tourists visiting Hanumandhoka to pay for visiting Dharahara, and has given a contract to the ‘SideWorks’ contractor for collecting the fees from tourists for visiting Dharahara.

 

Business people involved in the travel and tourism vehemently opposed this contract given by the Kathmandu metropolitan administration but the administration has not listened to the businesspeople. Now, CIAA in the scene and is determined to take actions against the perpetrators of the abuse of authority.
