CPN-Maoist Closes Roads Prachanda Rides Copter

October 29, 2013: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda took a helicopter to address an election rally at the district headquarters of the Okhaldhunga district yesterday; the UCPN-Maoist cadres walked to the district headquarters to attend the election rally, according to the RSS news posted on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.

 

The CPN-Maoist has shutdown the roadways leading to Okhaldhunga since Sunday to disrupt the election rally to be held by the UCPN-Maoist.

 

The CPN-Maoist announced the road shutdown on Sunday night to upset the election rally of the UCPN-Maoist. The CPN-Maoist has blocked the roads at Nisankhe, Harkapur of the Thulachhap portion, Laglag of Okhaldhunga portion, Patale of Solu-Okhaldhunga route and Barnalu of Rumjatar- Okhaldhunga section by placing trees.

 

Vehicles bound for the district headquarters from Koshahat remained off the road due to the obstructions. Police Inspector Bhagirath Regmi of the District Police Office confirmed the road obstructions in different parts of the district. CPN-Maoist district in-Charge Mohan Khadka said that the roadblock was the party policy.
