In a ruling today, the Supreme Court allowed Rajani Shahi to live with her woman partner rejecting the demand of her relatives for separating her from her woman partner and sending her back to her husband.
Rajani Shahi was married to a man and has an 11-year-old daughter, but she has been living with Prem Kumari Nepali for the last two years. She had even sought divorce from her husband, but her relatives from both sides tried to separate her from her woman partner.
After the family of Rajani Shahi made her enforced disappearance, her woman partner Prem Kumari Nepali filed a habeas corpus case at the Supreme Court. Appearing at the court hearing, Rajani Shahi told the judge that she wanted to live with her woman partner Prem Kumari Nepali rather than her husband.
