Peaceful Movement For ‘Peace And Constitution’

May 1, 2010: one of the Vice-chairmen of UCPN-Maoist Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that the movement for ‘Peace and Constitution’ his party is launching will be peaceful following the rights of people to protest; however, if the government attempts to suppress such a peaceful movement then his party will retaliate such move of the government.
Concerning the police report on finding the cache of empty bottles, several barrels of petroleum, and a sack full of catapults stored at the guesthouse in Kathmandu, Dr. Bhattarai has said that his party is checking the truth of the police report.
Member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Gauri Prdhan has said that the NHRC will monitor the peaceful movement for ‘peace and constitution’ to be launched by the UCPN-Maoist how peaceful will it be following the rights to peaceful protest and how the security force will follow the rule of law to ensure the law and order.
