CIAA Directed Ministry Of Home And Department Of Immigration

August 29, 2013: Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has instructed the Ministry of Home and Department of Immigration to deliver services seriously and sincerely not harassing the Nepalis going for foreign employments, according to the morning news of Radio Nepal today.
CIAA’s instructions have been after the Immigration Office at the international airport in Kathmandu have returned about 200 Nepalis going to the foreign employments on the pretext of not understanding the visa written in other languages other than Nepali and English. This has been the first case of the Nepalis going to the foreign employments have to face such a hassle at the Immigration Office of the Kathmandu airport.
CIAA has taken 18 out of 65 staffs of the Immigration Office at the international airport in Kathmandu in custody for irregularities they have committed while on duty. In retaliation, the immigration officials have caused unnecessary hassles to the Nepalis going for the foreign employments, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
CIAA has the authority to take actions against anybody abusing the authority. So, the non-performing staffs of the Immigration Office are subjected to the actions of the CIAA, spokesman for CIAA has said.
