Appellate Court Orders Police To Register Case Against Army

Issue 28, July 11, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

July 8, 2010: Appellate Court Surkhet had ordered the District Police to register a case against army men following the writ petition filed by Devisara Poudel according to the Nepalnews.com. Mrs. Poudel had alleged 18 army men of murdering her husband on May 16, 2002 at the time of conflict.

Mrs. Poudel went to the Appellate Court after the police and the local administration refused to register her complaint against army men. It has been a regular practice of the Nepalese police not to register any case against the army and police. So, the Nepalese army and the policemen commit crimes with impunity.
