All Party Meeting At State Secretariat

March 17, 2010: on the call of Prime Minister Madhav Nepal, members of twenty-two political parties representing at the legislature attended an all-party meeting held at the state secretariat in Kathmandu on March 16, 2010. Mr. Nepal has informed the members of the political parties attending the meeting about the subject matters discussed at the High Level Political Mechanism, and the problems of completing the peace process.
Most of members attending the meeting told Prime Minister Madhav Nepal to expedite the peace process and the writing of a new constitution working with the Maoists following the consensus politics. They have also heavily criticized Mr. Nepal for his inability to function as a competent Prime Minister.
Members of the UCPN-Maoist did not attend the all-party meeting called by the Prime Minister.
