By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
On December 13, 2009, the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ has reported that the victim of the gang rapists, Suntali Dhami has said that the best medicine for her would be the justice. She has been at the police hospital obviously for mental and physical treatment. She has said that she has been suffering from the mental torture given by the police for covering up their crime. She also has said that the police have been offering her the bargain of giving Rs 500,000 through the local leader in return for stopping her daughter speaking out about her conditions. She wants the government to bring the perpetrators of the raping her to justice that would be the main treatment for her suffering. She says she is not allowed to talk freely; the police supposed to be guarding her have been mentally torturing her.
Nepalis can easily imagine how the government would do justice to common folks if it does not give justice to the policewoman and tries to cover up the crimes committed by fellow policemen.
Women students of the Padma Campus have continued to fight for the justice for Suntali Dhami raped by her men colleagues. The police have arrested some students went to meet with Suntali Dhami. The police have been restricting the meeting of Suntali Dhami with others on the pretext of her mental and physical condition.
