On February 11, 2009, the government decided to take strong actions against the bank-loan defaulters, and set up a five-member monitoring committee headed by Constituent Assembly Member Hari Roka to monitor the status of defaulters and expedite the actions against them following the recommendations of the Central Bank of Nepal called Nepal Rastra Bank according to Minister for Information and Communication Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
On February 12, 2009, Jacksonville.com reported that an expert in international court governance, Pimentel would travel to Nepal this week to assist in crafting a new constitution. Pimentel is one of eight U.S. legal experts and the only one from Florida invited to help Nepal with its constitutional conference. He'll co-chair a session on the judicial system with a Nepalese official.
