'We Won’t Leave Kathmandu’ Says Prachanda

April 21, 2010: speaking at the function of the national Christian meeting held at Tundikhel in Kathmandu on April 20, 2010, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that some politicians want to make the Maoists as guerrilla fighters again chasing them out of Kathmandu but the Maoists will never leave Kathmandu again and will institutionalize the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal as the Maoists are its creators.
Prachanda has also said that after the long struggle of the Maoists, Nepal has become a secular state; so, the Maoists will protect it and ensure the rights of all people to the faiths they believe in; and the Maoists have been always safeguarding the rights of Christians and will continue to do so.
Prachanda has also said that if a new constitution is not promulgated on May 28, 2010 as aspired by the Nepalis, hundred of thousands of Nepalis will come out to the streets and sweep away all the current feudal politicians and broker political parties according to the news published in the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of April 21, 2010.
