Hot Debate Over Sujata’s Appointment

Issue 42, October 18, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On October 14, 2009, at the meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress chaired by Acting President Sushil Koirala, leaders have accused each other of getting favors from Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala.

Most of the Central Committee members such as Ram Chandra Poudel, Arjun Narsing KC, Ram Sharan Mahat and so on have hit hard on Party President Girija Prasad Koirala for getting his daughter Sujata Koirala elevated to Deputy Prime Minister disregarding the democratic norms of following the decision of the parliamentary party and the central committee of the Nepali Congress. Girija Koirala had bullied them making a unilateral decision on sending a team of the NC members under the leadership of his daughter to join the Madhav government.

Sujata Koirala in turn has charged all them of having reached such high positions getting favor of her father, and has said that nobody has criticized her father but when she got a small favor from her father all of them are making such noises against him.
