No-participation Of Vaidhya Maoists In Elections Makes No Difference

April 12, 2013: speaking at the ‘meet the press’ event held by the revolutionary reporters’ association of Kaski in Pokhara yesterday, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda said that elections to a new CA would go ahead despite the obstructions made by the Vaidhya Maoists; everybody knows the attitude of the Vaidhya Maoists; people would throw them out if they were not to participate in the elections, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today. He also said that the door is opened to the Vaidhya Maoists for coming to dialogue with the High Level Political Committee of the four parties.
Any activity obstructing the elections to be held impartially, freely and without any rigging would be considered as the assault on the sovereignty of the country, Chairman Prachanda said.
At the same time, head of state President Dr Ram Baran Yadav issued the election-related ordinances, and citizenship-related ordinance. The Election Commission could continue the work on preparing for the elections. Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers could set the date for elections.
NC has completed its Maha-samiti meeting in Nawalparasi yesterday. The Maha-samiti has deiced the elections to a new CA should be held in November. According to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ the Maha-samiti has focused on the issues of the elections, and urged all Nepalis to put pressure on all concerned agencies to make the elections without rigging, free, impartial, and without intimidation and fear.
