Murder Of Former Legislature In Saptari

Issue 21, May 26, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

May 23, 2013: locals found former legislature 52-year old Sadrul Miya Haque murdered in a room of the building adjoining his petrol pump on the night of Monday, May 20, 2013. The Nepal Police received the information on his murder only on the Tuesday morning. The Police immediately went to the murder site, and with the help of trained dogs, they found a bloodstained shirt at his brick factory, according to the ‘gorkhapatra’ of yesterday.

Supporters of former legislature Haque have been protesting against the police even though the police have immediately started off investigation into the murder. Protesters have blocked the east-west highway demanding the home minister to come to explain to them about the investigation into the murder.

Passengers traveling to both sides of the highway have been stranded on the highway in Saptari but the government has shown neither the concern for the demand of the protestors nor the miserable plight of the passengers traveling on the highway.

Chairman of the IECM Khil Raj Regmi either fire the home minister for not taking up the issue of the murder of the former legislature seriously, and not cooling down the temper of his supporters, and not relieving the miserable plight of the passengers stranded in Saptari or Chairman Regmi himself should quit the job, as his home minister and himself have shown incompetence in resolving the problem of murder case.
