Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is visiting India at the invitation of the Indian counterpart Narendra Modi from August 23 to August 27, 2017. His entourage comprises his spouse Dr Arju Deuba, deputy Prime Minister holding the portfolio of Foreign Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara, and other high officials the news in “gorkhapatra” of today state quoting the foreign ministry source.
Prime Minister Deuba will reside at the Rastrapati Bhavan in New Delhi while in India. He will have a direct talk with his counterpart and other high dignitaries.
Nepalese media have been stating that the prime minister needs to take the issues of about 20 dams built along the Nepal-India border that have been the causes of the recent devastating floods in Nepal, and why the Indian officials did not open up the Koshi dam when the water rose above the dangerous level in the Koshi River causing so much of damages to lives and property in Nepal.
