Like-minded Political Parties Unite Together

October 2, 2012: seven Madheshi and indigenous political parties yesterday together set up a Federal Democratic Front-Nepal (FDF-N) with the objective of developing it into a unified national party to face the challenges posed by the major political parties ignoring the concerns of the Madheshi and indigenous Nepalis.
Leaders of the seven parties that had set up the front said that the FDF-N would work to ensure freedom, equality, and social justice to all the people of the country ending the existing ethnic, regional class and gender-based discrimination in the country, according to ‘thehimalayantimes.com.’
Chairman of Tamsaling Nepal National Party (TNNP) Parshuram Tamang said that the leaders of the FDF-N decided to unify their parties after they realized the need for a powerful political force, as the so-called major parties including the NC, CPN-UML and Maoists failed to craft a new constitution. “Realizing that if we remained as we were, we would never gain strength and would always be considered regional parties, we have come together to form a strong party that can work as an alternative to the so-called big parties,” Tamang told THT. He further said that the front would turn into a brand new party within the next three months and to this end, leaders of the front were holding dialogue with several fringe parties and other forces, according to ‘thehimalayantimes.com.
The seven political parties that have come together to from a FDF-N are 1) Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party, 2) Nepal Shanti Samaj Dal, 3) Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Manch, 4) Nepal Nagarik Party, 5) Janamukti Party Nepal, 6) Madheshi People’s Rights forum-Nepal and 7) Tamsaling Nepal National Party.
Similarly, Various pro-monarchy political parties have formed a new alliance called 'Patriotic Democratic Front' to safeguard the nation and the people. Leaders of the newly formed Front claimed that the big political parties which claimed themselves as 'followers' of democracy could not safeguard nationality, so, the need for forging a national consensus on the kingship in the current situation, according to RSS/thehimalayantimes.com.
The parties forming a 'Patriotic Democratic Front' are 1) Rastriya Jana Ekata Party, 2) Rastriya Ekata Party, 3) Lok Kalyankari Janata Party, 4) Deshbhakta Rastrabadi Party, 5) Rastriya Shivsena Party, 6) League Nepal Shanti Ekata Party and 7) Nepal Rastrabadi Party among others, writes RSS/thehimalayantimes.com.
