By KTM Metro Reporter

June 10: the UCPN-Maoist in a meeting held at the residence of Prachanda, Naya Bazaar in Kathmandu has decided that only Chairman Prachanda would lead a new national consensus government if the party has to form a new government under its leadership according to one of the Vice Chairmen of UCPN-Maoist Narayan Kaji Shrestha. He has said that the politburo meeting to be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 would make a formal decision on the army integration stated in the three-point deal signed on May 28, 2010.

The UCPN-Maoist has also decided to resume talks with NC and CPN-UML leaders on forming a new government if they ensure the completion of a new constitution drafting and the peace process.

At the same time, speaking to the reporters in Palpa, Vice President of NC Prakash Man Singh has said that the Prime Minister would stay on until the first and second points of the three-point deal are enforced. He has said that the Prime Minister’s resignation will come only after the completion of the peace process, constitution writing and the deal on power sharing.

Vice-President Prakash Man Singh has also said that now it is the turn of his party to lead a new government, as both the UCPN-Maoist and the CPN-UML have already in power but could not complete the peace process and the constitution writing.
