Build A Political Consensus Otherwise…

October 1, 2012: during the meeting with political parties held at the presidential office yesterday, the Head of State President Dr Ram Baran Yadav urged top leaders of various political parties to build a consensus to avoid the political and constitutional crisis prevailing in the country. The top leaders of various political parties in turn committed to break the ongoing political gridlock.

After the meeting, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda said that the Head of State was very concerned over the prolonged political tension prevailing in the country, and said that the time was running out fast for the parties to build a national consensus government for ending the political crisis.

CPN-UML leader Madhav Nepal said that the Head of State warned of the political parties having a one-last chance to build a political consensus to give an outlet to the political crisis prevailing in the country.

Attendees at the meeting are Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai also Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist, President of NC Sushil Koirala, Vice-president of NC Ram Chandra Poudel, senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Nepal, Chairman of MPRF–Democratic Bijaya Gacchedar also Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya and Chairman of MPRF–Nepal Upendra Yadav, writes nepalnews.com.

Reminding the leaders of their commitments to going to fresh elections and building a political consensus, Head of State Dr Yadav said that the parties should come up with a proposal for what, how and when he should do if a consensus could not be built up among the political parties, the Office of the President said in a statement according to ‘THT ONLINE.’
