Government Fails in Relief Delivery To Diarrhea-Affected People

On September 8, 2009, the state-run English-language newspaper ‘The Rising Nepal’ has reported that the government has failed in delivering any relief to the people affected by the epidemic of diarrhea in the mid-western district Jajarkot; many people walk for several days to reach the district headquarters anticipating to receive the government-declared relief but have to return empty handed due to the absence of the concerned government officials supposed to deliver the relief. Thus, the government-declared relief has remained in paper only.
