President Gives An Audience To Chinese Minister For Culture

December 8, 2010: visiting Chinese Minister For Culture Cai Wu has had an audience with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav today. During the meeting, President Yadav has said to the Chinese Minister that Nepal firmly supports the Chinese efforts on upholding the state sovereignty, national unity and territorial integrity, and believes Tibet is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory according to the Xinhua news report.

President Yadav has also added that Nepal will not allow any forces to use the Nepalese territory for engaging in any anti-China or separatist activities, and has hoped that the minister’s visit to Nepal will certainly enhance the cultural exchanges, and strengthen the friendship between the people of the two countries

Minister Cai in turn has agreed with the President and appreciated the Nepalese support for the issue concerning the Chinese-Tibetan matters. Minister Cai has said that China will further enhance cultural exchange and communications with Nepal, and raise the bilateral relationship with Nepal to a higher level establishing comprehensive and cooperative partnership.

Minister Cai has arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday, December 5 with a cultural delegation, paid a three-day friendship visit to Nepal. Minister Cai has also met with his Nepali counterpart, Minister for Culture Minendra Rijal and other high-ranking officials of Nepal during his visit.
