Poudel To Contest In Fifth Round Of Election To PM

August 8, 2010: the central working committee of Nepali Congress has decided today that the NC prime ministerial candidate Ram Chandra Poudel will contest the fifth round of elections to Prime Minister to be held at the Legislature on August 18; spokesman for the NC Party Arjun Narsingh KC has told the reporters that his party will not give a ‘walkover’ in the prime ministerial race; "It is not possible to withdraw our party’s candidate for prime minister as the competition is going on in a process that has already started," he said, "But we have kept our doors open to consensus as well," ‘The Rising Nepal’ of August 8, 2010 reports. At the same time, the UCPN-Maoist also has decided not to back out of the elections. UCPN-Maoist and NC candidates for a Prime Minister have contested four times during the last two weeks.
