Concerns of Donor Community
BY KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
On December 4, 2009, Speaking at the meeting with the members of the donor community and of the Government of Nepal, members of the donor community have complained that the government has no capacity to use the budget made available by the donor community to different development projects; the government takes three years to use the budget provided for a year; sometimes the money goes back to the donor country because the government cannot use it at all. This has happened because the government often transfers the staffs working at the projects funded by the donors, and the project manager comes without any knowledge of the project; so, they have urged the government not to transfer the project manager and other staffs often, if the government needs to transfer a project manager, the government needs to brief a new project manager on the project. Number of members of the donor community in Nepal has reached twenty-six.
