By KTM Metro Reporter

November 29, 2010: a Joint meeting of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been held in Kathmandu on Sunday, November 28, 2010 ‘Himalayan News Service’ and Nepalsnews.com write. The CII delegation has highlighted the need for the legal protection of investment and investors. The FNCCI delegation has agreed on it and has said that the FNCCI has been urging the Government of Nepal to formulate and enact a Bill on Investment and Investor Protection.

Both the FNCCI and CII have agreed on the need for making joint investments in Nepal and on the need for identifying the joint ventures in areas such as hydropower, tourism, agriculture, education, health, IT, BPO, and infrastructure building.

The CII delegation has been concerned with the Nepalese media taking up a negative publicity against the products of the Indian-joint venture in Nepal, and has highlighted the need for punishing the media for false reporting to protect the interest of all the media and industries and businesses in Nepal.
