Shutdown In Mid-western Districts

Issue 26, June 27, 2010

BY KTM Metro Reporter

June 23, 2010: an illegal Hindu group called Bhisma Ekta Parishad (BEP) has shut down the mid-western Nepal for two days starting on Monday, June 21 demanding to enforce the three-point agreement the three largest parties such as UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML had reached on May 28 and remaking Nepal a Hindu state. Such illegal groups have surfaced because of the political deadlock caused by the political game played by the three major parties without a referee. So, the leaders of these parties have been hoodwinking each other not enforcing the agreements they have reached.

People cannot go for work and do business in places such as Nepalgunj, Dang, Tulsipur and Surkhet, as the callers of shutdown have mercilessly enforced the shutdown. So, transport has been shut down and all factories, businesses at market places, schools and colleges have remained closed for two days.
