Be a Gandhi says Prachanda to YCL Members
By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
Referring the widespread skirmishes among the cadres of the three major political parties such as the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-Maoist), Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) and the Nepali Congress (NC) sometimes causing serious injuries during the election campaign, addressing an election rally at Tundikhel, Kathmandu on April 02, 2008, Maoists’ Chairman Prachanda urges his party’s cadres on exercising restraint in their behavior during the election campaign so that the negative publicity of the Maoists even for minor mistakes could be brought under control. Urging the Maoists’ cadres to be 'Gandhi' for at least during the run-up to the election for a Constituent Assembly, he has told them not to retaliate against the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML cadres. He has also complained that the Nepalese press has been biased against his party bringing minor mistakes of his cadres to limelight but ignoring the attempt on his life and the murder of eight Maoists’ cadres.
