Forensic Lab Test From Finland

Issue 01, January 5, 2014

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 30, 2013: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has received the result of the forensic tests of four youths buried after murder in the Godar VDC of the Dhanusha district a decade ago. The security arrested five youths at Kataiya Chhauri of Bishwakarma Chowk in Janakpur on September 18, 2003, and then killed them and buried the bodies, according to the RSS news on ‘gorkhapatronline.com.’

Following the eye witnesses of the burial site and the activities of the local human rights workers, NHRC officials studied the burial site, and exhumed four human bodies on the bank of Kamala River on September 6, 2010.

Secretary to NHRC Bed Prasad Bhattarai said that the samples were sent to the Forensic University in Finland three years ago and the lab report has been received. He, however, said that there were some practical problems of making the report public immediately, as the laboratory report on the bodies exhumed in the second phase has not been received, yet.

According to the families of the victims, the security had abducted, murdered and buried Sanjib Kumar Karna, Durgesh Labh, Jitednra Jha, Pramod Narayan Mandal and Shailendra Yadav of the Dhanusha district.
