March 24, 2010: the state has celebrate the Chait Dasain making animal sacrifices to the Goddess of War Bhagavati on March 23. The state has made the offerings of sacrifices of 54 male water buffaloes to the Goddess of War Bhagavati on the ancient palace courtyard. In addition, the Nepal Army also has made animal sacrifices to the Goddess at various places.

Nepalis celebrate Dasain festival vigorously in September/October; the state administration remains closed for a week for celebrating the festival. Even private businesses come to halt.

Every household makes the sacrifice of an animal or a bird to the Goddess Bhagavati at that time. However, Nepalis celebrate chair Dasain only for a day. The state does not even close the services of the administration on this day.

Nepalis celebrate the birthday of Ram on the ninth day of Ram called Ramnavami on March 24, 2010. The birthday of Ram is the state holiday. Nepalis celebrate it making offerings to Ram, his spouse Sita and his brother Laksman at all the temples they are enshrined. The trio is inseparable. Monkey God Hanuman also remains in the company of the trio.

Ram is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and his spouse Sita is also the divine incarnation. Ram was the monarch of Ayodhaya. His father instead of crowning him sent him into exile for 12 years listening to the second queen for crowning his son Bharat. Ram returned back to Ayodhaya after completing the 12-year exile and winning back his spouse lost to Ravan that has taken her forcibly while both Ram and Laksman were in the forest chasing a golden deer. Ram and Laksman fought against Ravan and killed him and returned back with Sita to Ayodhaya triumphantly.
