August 13, 2012: speaking at a media rally held by the Press Chautari Nepal in Chitwan, leader of CPN-UML K.P Oli charged the NC today that even if his party had been backing the NC leaders, it had not been able to form a new government. He claimed that only the CPN-UML could be an alternative party to form a new government. He also demeaned the protest campaign launched by Youth Association Nepal (YAN) against Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai stating the protest campaign did not make sense, as the parties had not be able to build a consensus on forming a new government and also on the prime ministerial candidate, writes nepalnews.com.

The UDMF at the meeting discussed pros and cons of forming a Federal Democratic Alliance yesterday, some of them feared that it might further polarize into pro and against federalism when the politicians needed to build a consensus on the political issues, writes ‘The Himalayan Times’.

Today, the ruling coalition of UCPN-Maoist and UDMF has been discussing the ways to give Federal Democratic Alliance a final shape at the meting held at the Baluwatar official residence of the prime minister, and is talking about setting up a committee to expedite the formation of the alliance of pro-federal forces. Federal Democratic Alliance is for republicanism, federalism, secularism, and to break the current political crisis. (Thehimalayantimes.com)
