Inspection Of Koshi Dam In Nepal

July 31, 2010: a team of high-level state officials such as Secretary to Ministry of General Administration, Secretary to Ministry of Irrigation, Secretary to National Vigilance Center, and technical officials has inspected the eastern embankment from Chatara area to Koshi barrage in course of assessing the possibility of washing away the embankment areas during the monsoon flooding. The team has also inspected the construction of a bridge at Patanal and the erosion areas in Pultegautha. In view of the heavy rains during the monsoon period and the possibility of flooding that might wash away the embankment and cause erosion in various areas, the inspection team led by Chief Secretary to the Council of Ministers Madhav Prasad Ghimire has visited various embankment areas for inspection according to the Nepalese media reports.
