By KTM Metro Reporter

June 25, 2011: Talking to reporters at a press meet held by Press Chautari Nepal at Pokhara Airport yesterday, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has said that the government has been making every effort on arresting the assailants of reporter Khilanath Dhakal, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

However, Mr. Khanal has failed to say that the main assailant Parshuram Basnet has been under the protection of the leader of Youth Association of Nepal (YAN) Mahesh Basnet. YAN is the association affiliated to CPN-UML of Mr. Khanal.

Reporters have refused to cover the event Mr. Khanal has attended in Pokhara as the protest against the government not arresting both the Basnets that have been the main characters in assaulting reporter Dhakal. Reporters have been boycotting the events attended by the ministers as the protest against the government ignoring the arrest of the assailants.
