Revenue Of Holy Temple Of Lord Pashupati In Kathmandu

Issue 20, May 19, 203

By KTM Reporter

May 12, 2013: the revenue of Lord Pashupati of a year ending Chaitra (March-April) in the Vikram calendar has been Rs 45 million but the officials of the Pashupati Area Development Fund (PADF) did not know how to use this revenue, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

According to the newly formulated rules of the PADF, 33% of the revenue will spent on the management of the Pashupati temple, and another 33% on the social work but it does not say on what projects or programs the rest of the money will be spent.

The Pashupati Area has many things to do. The so-many badminton courts illegally built in the Shlesmantak forest are waiting to be demolished, and restore the holy forest.

Many small and big temples also needed to be repaired and restored their vitality within the Pashupati Area. A senior citizen home also needed to be repaired and made it comfortably livable for the senior citizens there.

Lord Pashupati will be happy to see the offerings made to Him are used in such social and religious work. Lord Pashupati also will be happy if the PADF could use some of the funding to clean the holy Bagmati River flowing just behind the temple.
