Kathmandu: Speaking at a program held to mark the 35th death anniversary of BP Koirala: the first democratically elected prime minister, Prime Minster Sher Bahadur Deuba said that the government would soon announce the date for the provincial and federal elections, as the Constitution has made the provision for holding local elections, the provincial and federal elections well before January 21, 2018; the two phases of local elections have been already held, and the third-phase is going to hold on September 18; the electoral constituency delineation commission for provincial and federal elections has been already set up, and all the bills on these elections are in the parliament; they are in the process for passing, according to the news in “gorkhapatra” of July 22, 2017.
