Issue 27, July 5, 2009

BY KTM metro Reporter in Nepal

On June 29, 2009, the politburo meeting of the United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-Maoist) has ended after passing the political document presented by the Party Chairman Prachanda. Speaking to the reporters Chairman Prachanda has said that his party will take initiative to form a new national unity government including the civil society activists; there is no alternative to the government of the Maoists; the current government is unconstitutional and formed on an unethical base.

Prachanda’s document passed by the politburo has stated that the President needs to correct his unconstitutional step taken to save the Chief of Army Staff from firing by the then Government of Prachanda, and take other political leaders who have been for a ‘national unity government’, ‘civil supremacy’ and ‘sovereignty’ together for forming a national unity government.
