Month-long Religious Festival At Sipadol Village in Bhaktapur

July 16, 2013: a month-long religious festival kicked off today at Aashapuri Mahadev and Dolesvor Mahadev at the Sipadol Village in the Bhaktapur district. Pilgrims begun reaching the temple early in the morning today from Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kathmandu, according to the RSS news posted on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’

 

The month called Sravon in the Vikram calendar is the most auspicious one for visiting the Shiva temples. Every Monday is the day of Lord Shiva. Hindus believing in Lord Shiva make a pilgrimage to different Shiva temples in Nepal.

 

According to the Indian Hindu guru Shankaracharya, Dolesvor is the head of Lord Kedarnath in India.
