One Nepalese Killed In Afghanistan

In a fierce gun battle with Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, a British Gurkha belonging to the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Gurkha Rifles taking part in the joint operation of NATO and Afghan forces against the rebels was killed said the British Defense Ministry on November 05, 2008.
According to the British online newspapers, the Nepalese infantryman was on foot patrol close to the town called Musa Qaleh in northern Helmand Province of Afghanistan when his unit came under attack from the Taliban.
“Thousands of British Army Gurkhas have served in Iraq and Afghanistan in recent years, but this is the first time a Nepalese Gurkha soldier has died in either conflict” one of the British Newspapers wrote.
