By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
On Saturday, June 13, 2009, after completing the two-day visit to Nepal, before leaving Kathmandu for Bangladesh, speaking to the reporters, US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Robert Blake has said that completing the peace process, writing a new constitution and removing the unqualified Maoist combatants living in the cantonments are the important tasks the political parties need to undertake on the consensus politics.
Concerning the question of when the US will remove the Maoists from the list of terrorists, Mr. Blake has said that it depends on the behavior of the Maoists; they need to give up the violence in totality, YCL needs to stop violence, intimidation and threat, and they need to be fully committed to peace and democracy.
