A NC-led Government A Must For Fresh Elections

Issue 53, December 30, 2012

By KTM Metro Reporter

December 27, 2012: “Formation of national unity government leaded by NC is necessary to hold free and fair election in the country,” said KC at press meet held by Nepal Press Union Illam Chapter in Mangalbare today. NC leader Arjun Narsingh KC claimed that a NC-led national unity government is a must to hold fresh CA polls, according to the RSS news posted on thehimalayantimes.com. “If consensus is not reached within a week, elections cannot be held in April-May, then, the country will slide into conflict,” said leader KC.

A meeting of Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA): an alliance of the ruling UCPN-Maoist, UDMF, and other small political parties held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar today concluded that if the major parties fail to reach a consensus in a package deal by January 9 then the fresh polls won’t be possible in April/May.

Speaking at the 39th national conference of Nepal Jaycees in Hetauda today, NC President Sushil Koirala said political parties would reach an agreement soon. “All the parties will have to come together to resolve the deadlock and that day is not very far away,” Koirala said. He further said that NC has been initiating moves to form less federal states. “We cannot take the burden of a huge number of states,” he said, according to ‘HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE’.
