Prachanda Changes His Stand
By KTM Metro Reporter
January 17, 2011: at the meeting held at the office of prime minister, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has put forward demands for the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) monitoring not only the Nepal Army barrack at Chhauni but the whole Nepal Army and making the equal representation of the People’s Liberation Army to the security agencies on the monitoring team, myrepublica.com writes. Such demands will certainly adversely affect the smooth transfer of Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of PLA cantonments to the AISC. Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda and the government has signed a three-point deal on Friday, January 14, 2011 to transfer the tasks of UNMIN to the AISC after UNMIN leaves Nepal after January 15, 2011. Quoting the press advisor to the prime minister, myrepublica.com has stated that the prime minister has outright rejected the fresh demands made by the chairman of UCPN-Maoist at the meeting.
Addressing the trainees of Nevah and Tamsling states at Brikutimandap in Kathmandu, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that the immediate goal of his party has been to grab the state power through the people’s revolt and set up the people’s federal republic, myrepublic.com writes in another news repot. Chairman Prachanda has said that his party has been making preparations such as 1) Building favorable international conditions; 2) splitting bureaucracy, army and police; 3) making appropriate physical conditions; 4) and mobilizing the masses for the people’s revolt.
If these news reports are true then Nepal is going to fall back to political chaos and Nepalis need to undergo another revolt for which how many beautiful lives need to be shed to make it a success. Sensing such a people’s revolt, the US Government must have issued a travel warning to its citizens stating to refrain from traveling to Nepal.
