Sajha Yatayat Operating Buses Again In Kathmandu

February 23, 2013: Sajha Yatayat is going to run bus services along the routes: Harihar Bhawan-Tripureshwor-Ranipokhari-Kamalpokhari-Gaushala-Koteshwor-Satdobato-Lagankhel (16.5km) and Satdobato-Lagankhel-Jawalakhel-Tripureshwor-Teku-Kalimati-Kalanki (16.4km) starting in mid-March this year according to nepalnews.com. It has already imported 16 buses built by the TATA Company in India.

TATA Motors Company of India had made a lowest bid for the supply of buses, according to Chairman of Sajha Cooperatives Kanak Mani Dixit. Sajha Yatayat had floated a global tender for the vehicle supply. The Sajha Yatayat had received bids from the companies in Hong Kong, China, Singapore and India.

The elected government headed by Girija Prasad Koirala in early 1990s had almost liquidated the company to give the way to the private companies particularly the company of the friends and relatives of his family members according to the newspaper reports.
