Vaidhya Complains About Not having Talks
By KTM Metro Reporter
July 15, 2013: chairman of CPN-Maoist Mohan Vaidhya complained about the government and the four-party political mechanism not being serious about the talks even after so many days of his party setting up a high level talk team.
Chairman Vaidhya once was so adamant that he was not going to talk to anybody except for the president as he refused to recognize the government and the four-party political mechanism. Now, Vaidhya has been so interested in talking to any institution he once has labeled as an unconstitutional.
The 32 dissident political parties Chairman Vaidhya’s party has been leading to protest against the elections have not been happy with Vaidhya setting up a talk team unilaterally without consulting any one of the 32 political parties.
The government and the four-party political mechanism are wiling to have talks with Chairman Vaidhya on condition of not changing the current government and not postponing the elections scheduled for November 19, 2013. Chairman Vaidhya is for unconditional talks with the government and the four-party political mechanism.
Speaking at the party’s first municipality level meeting in Pokhara yesterday, senior vice-president of Sanghiya Samajwadi Party Bijaya Subba said that his party would participate in the forthcoming Constituent Assembly elections, if the seats for the propositionally elected members were to remain unchanged from the provision made for the 2008 polls. Subba said that if the provision made for the 2008 CA elections was amended, his party would boycott the election, as participating in the elections would mean the support for the regression, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’
