The Nepal Army has stated in its report that the three women were poachers and the army men shot them dead when the women fired at the army. The women possessed explosives and weapons the Nepal Army had claimed. Defense Minister Vidhya Bhandari has endorsed the army report.

NHRC has made recommendations to the government for taking actions against 15 army personnel involved in the killing of three innocent women including a 12-year old girl, paying the compensation of Rs 300,000 to the family members of each deceased woman for the loss of loved one and providing free education to the children of the dead women.

The NHRC has made recommendations for the government to prosecute the army personnel including Subodh Kunwar in a civilian court, and to take legal actions against those army personnel attempted to cover up the evidences.

The NHRC has accused the Nepal Army personnel of not cooperating on the investigation into the killing of three innocent women.
