Color Code For Police Office Buildings

Issue 37, September 11, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

September 5, 2011: The Nepal Police Headquarters (NPHQ) has enforced the common color code for all newly constructed and old buildings of the Nepal Police, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The administration of Dr. Bhattarai needs to immediately stop it, as repainting the so many buildings means wasting millions of rupees if not billions for such activities good for nothing. In addition, such activities are mainly for making money for the officers and even for the minister.

The Panchayat regime also had once enforced the color code for the office buildings costing billions of rupees to the state coffer.

Nepal is so poor because its administration has be so smart to waste the taxpayers’ money on such things that don’t make much sense to the people no matter what excuses the police officers have.

The police officers say that common people will recognize the police building by its color and the people can take shelter in them for security. But the police could provide the people with security even without repainting the building. Sincerity of the police officers is important for the security of the people than repainting the buildings.

Prime Minster Dr. Baburam Bhattarai needs to stop the police from wasting the taxpayers’ money on repainting the police building otherwise Dr. Bhattarai would not be different from any past prime ministers that had looted the state coffer.
