Resolving Political Problems In Nepal

February 11, 2013: speaking at the event to talk about ‘Transformed Nepal and Research Method’ held in Dhulikhel yesterday, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist has said that he is looking for a political partner like the late Girija Prasad Koirala to build a consensus on all the political matters. He is sure to find such partner and take the country from the darkness to light. He also has said that the Nepalese people are not of the 1950s, they are changed and of high class. Chairman Prachanda has said that his party is not for narrowing down the democracy but expanding it for economic development, according to ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
Speaking at the event held in Kathmandu yesterday to mark the 22nd anniversary of the Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai called on the opposition political parties protesting on the streets to build a consensus on political matters, as there is no possibility of resolving the political matters going out of a consensus. Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai also has said that the government has adopted the policy on zero tolerance of corruption, so, the government has given a top priority to remove corruption in the country, according to ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
Speaking to the reporters after the meeting with the head of state President Dr Ram Baran Yadav yesterday, Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai has said that a new government headed by the sitting Chief Justice of the Supreme Coirt of Nepal would be the most appropriate to hold elections, and that is the normal practice elsewhere in the world. He also has said that any decision made by all the political parties would be acceptable to him. He has urged the president to issue the ‘Truth Reconciliation Commission’ ordinance, and ‘Anti-money Laundering’ ordinance, according to ‘gorkhaptara’ of today.
NC and CPN-UML leaders have held a meeting in preparation to hold a decisive meeting with the UCPN-Maoist on Monday. After the meeting, leaders of both the political parties have said that if the UCPN-Maoist is sincerely for holding the elections in May, they would talk accordingly, however, they are not ready for a government led by the Chief Justice for holding the elections in May, according to ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.
Leaders of big four political parties such as UCPN-Maoist and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), and NC, CPN-UML are meeting the head of the state on Monday evening after talks held today morning have been closer to form a government to hold fresh CA polls by May 28. However, the political parties have failed to agree on the leadership of a government to hold fresh polls, according to THT ONLINE of today.
