Decisions Of Council Of Ministers Made On June 27, 2013

June 28, 2013: the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today says the Interim Election Council of Ministers made the following decisions at the meeting held yesterday:

 

  1. The women-bonded laborers called Kamalaris need not pay any amount to their masters following the Kamalari System Elimination Act.
  2. Any gift Nepalese ministers received from their foreign counterparts would be recorded, and turned over to the concerned State agency. To this end, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would prepare a detailed policy and methodology, and submit it to the government.
  3. A report prepared by a commission on investigation into the murder of former lawmaker Sadrul Miya Hag would be sent to the Ministry of Home for enforcement; and revoked the decision made on May 23, 2013 on providing the family of the murdered former lawmaker with one million rupees, as his family members were involved in the murder.
  4. Accept the loan and grant of Rs 9 billion from the International Development Agency (IDA) of the World Bank for continuation of the school area development program; accept the grant of Rs 804.6 millions from Switzerland for the second-phase safe living project; accept the loan and grant of Rs 7.58 billions from the Asian Development Bank for improvement of the drainage system in the Kathmandu Valley; and accept the additional grant of Rs 884.8 million from the IDA of the World Bank for the second-phase of the poverty alleviation fund.
