Price Rise In Goat Meat In Kathmandu

August 22, 2013: prices of goat meat have been different at different meat shops, and have increased from Rs 700 per kilogram to Rs 750, Rs 800, and Rs 900 per kilogram depending on the meat shops in Kathmandu.

 

The morning news of the Radio Nepal of today has directly released the news from the meat shops that the prices of live and processed goat meat have been increased after the bird flu epidemic in Bhaktapur.

 

The government has shut down the poultry business for a week, and destroyed all poultry related materials in Bhaktapur. So, the supply of chicken has been drastically reduced causing pressure on the goat meat. It is the economic phenomena that the prices will increase if demand is increased.

 

The concerned government agency has denied that the prices of goat meat have increased, and even threatened to take actions against the sellers of goat meat at higher prices according to the Radio Nepal morning news of today.
